Lamp power switch — G-Switch C5446803
The short rear slide switch, exact terminal connections, OFF behavior and prototype checks.
The selected switch is G-Switch SS-12D01-G020 / C5446803, a maintained SPDT slide switch on the rear of Board L. It replaces the tall Dailywell toggle. RV1, the stopped ALPS potentiometer, sets brightness independently.
Selected part and availability
On 2026-09-06 JST, the JLCPCB C5446803 listing showed 3,709 in stock and 3,698 available to order. These are dated observations, not reserved inventory or approval of this particular board's assembly. No order has been placed. The exact G020 drawing is manufacturer-authored evidence retrieved through a distributor mirror.
The switch is rated 1 A at 24 V DC. The lamp's nominal design estimate is approximately 0.41 A at 15 V; the contact rating alone does not qualify capacitor inrush, contact bounce, switching lifetime or the upstream surge envelope.
Exact ON/OFF connections
| Terminal | PCB connection | Behavior |
|---|---|---|
| 2, common | V15_FUSED from F1.2 | Fused positive input |
| 1 | V15 to both converters and D10 | ON closes 2–1 |
| 3 | Explicit NC, isolated PCB pad | OFF closes 2–3; this terminal is live in OFF |
Both positive J2 contacts join before F1. Ground, ATT and PDOK remain connected. D10 and input capacitors remain local to switched V15; no LED switching node is routed through the switch. Never connect throw 3 to ground. Verify continuity and mark installed ON/OFF direction before powering the assembled board.
OFF removes Board L's normal positive supply. LEDs and logic turn off after stored charge decays; Board P and USB-PD remain powered. Debug/UART equipment can back-power the load, so OFF is not service isolation. Disconnect USB and service cables before handling the assembly.
ON restarts the MCU only after sufficient rail decay; rapid OFF/ON may avoid reset. Firmware must initialize PWM off, validate the RV1 absolute ADC position and PD/thermal state, then ramp toward that position. No executable lamp-control firmware is supplied by this hardware revision.
Short actuator and model provenance
The G020 version has a 3.5 mm case and 2 mm actuator. The corrected family CAD retains a 0.5 mm shoulder, giving approximately 6 mm mounted reach. It is a documented project adaptation of family CAD to G020, not a newly acquired exact manufacturer model. Do not reuse the taller family actuator as the enclosure envelope.
SW2 is on B.Cu at (9.10, 27.75) mm, rotated 90°. Verify housing clearance, actuator access/travel, soldering, retention and underside enclosure clearance on the prototype. See the rear-controls handoff.
Qualification checks
Unpowered, verify 2–1 ON and 2–3 OFF, the isolated throw-3 pad, and no copper bypass. Check insertion, support and installed switch direction.
With service cables disconnected, bring up Board P first and measure V15/V3P3 decay and residual voltage with SW2 OFF. Check for LED glow or partial MCU power.
Scope input current, V15, V3P3 and CTRL during switching, rapid toggles and USB reconnection. Check bounce, inrush, overshoot, brownout cycling and startup flashes.
Test minimum/full brightness, repeated switching, contact drop and temperature; verify startup and thermal protection. Assess ATT/PDOK and SWD/UART back-power separately.
C10/C11/C12/C14 plus C13 total 40.1 µF nominal, storing approximately 4.51 mJ at 15 V. This is an energy estimate, not a peak-current or lifetime bound. Hardware checks remain unperformed; ERC, DRC, netlist checks and rendering verify design data rather than assembled operation.
